The sensation of living "between", of inhabiting a space between two simultaneous opposites and of existing between objective and subjective intervals, is at the heart of my work together with the theme of gender-based violence, the woman who finds herself in the interval between before and after trauma. Inside and outside, body and soul, matter and energy, presence and absence, figure and non-figure, coexist in tension in a utopian, hermaphroditic, synchronous and spectral space-time which is, in turn, the right intermediate that allows the balance between pain and apparent non-pain, present in all my work. In my paintings, color hints at a form in an interval between abstract and figurative, form and non-form dissolving in color that covers and at the same time uncovers. As the famous Francis Bacon said, "you have to paint the sensation"...
