I love the mountains, as a good Bergamasco I have always had them close at hand. Their appeal is that they are beautiful, large and dangerous. When I am in front of them I get the sense of my littleness as a man. They will always be there and, as Francesco Guccini says: ... snow-covered mountain chains will border fir forests ... between heaven and earth for at least a thousand centuries but we won't be there
