I use a macro lens to show the beauty of flowers and mushrooms.
My device is on the ground. Grasses, leaves, twigs that are between my lens and the subject create blur. A very short depth of field allows me to focus sharpness on my subject and achieve a very diffuse background.
I give free rein to my imagination to "put" the chosen subject in a poetic or dreamlike setting.
