« Imagination governs the world. »
My background and inspiration mostly comes from street art and graffiti. From early beginning in my career as an artist I was interested in public space art. To take something out of your studio and to bring it to public space was always a fascinating idea to me. People who normally would never see your creation now has an opportunity to see it. And in my opinion our spaces need more art. We have too much empty gaps in our cities. Through many years I have been involved in site-specific art, murals, graphic design and illustration. Today I want to concentrate more on paintings and to explore one particular subject down to the core. Express it to fullest. And that is what I am happy to present here on Balthasart. I am happy for this opportunity to share my creations. And I hope that my long years of contemplation on harmony, proportions, design, line and creativity will find a place in hearts of visitors here.
In some way we can call this pointillism technique. All paintings are made with spray paint and acrylic paint. Slowly spreading layers of tiny drops slowly emerges texture. The hardest part is to spray the drops in correct size, not a fog, but bigger. There is a lot of work just to cover the parts there I don't want to spray over. So paper tape is the tool I am using mostly. I love layering new colors and changing the value of each segment in the painting. Hope you like the outcome of this new experiment of mine.
