« There is beauty in everything if you look long enough »
Born in 1993, American artist, Laura Scialdone, works and resides in Paris. Their subject matter is often sourced from people and places around them, drawn, printed, or photographed in explicitly simple and sensitive forms. Inspired by artists ranging from Jean Cocteau to Christina Quarelles, Laura's work of fine line drawings gives attention to the true and sometimes abstract form of the subject without over-complication.
Through a series of live model sessions attended in Paris, with a focus on queer and trans bodies, Laura uses these moments to explore and speculate the ideas of beauty and proportion, of what is complete through the "incomplete".
