Julia Tulub

Born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, and raised in Brussels, Belgium, since my teens, I have a passion for arts, science and the world. Initially self-taught, I refined my knowledge of oil painting and drawing at an artist’s private studio. I like a simple, effective, straight to the point approach, with clear lines, figures and bright colors. The subject is usually women, nature and wildlife. I combine different images to create a unique vision of a thought, event or feeling. In painting, I mostly using oil on canvas for its versatility. It allows me to create bright images that pop out and at the same time gives room for softness and drama. For drawings, the simplicity of graphite on paper allows me to capture the essence of what I want to convey and makes it one of my favorite mediums.
