Jean Philoctete

Portraits are a permanent source of inspiration for me. Whether they are celebrities that I try to surprise in the middle of their art, or strangers, models for whom I would seek an attitude, a gesture, an intention or a look. I also have an attraction for monuments, simple or historical. In any case, I work on the color contrasts, most of the time insisting on the uniformity of the backgrounds that I generally paint with a roller. This technique forces me to favor acrylic paint instead of oil.
