« Express the world, only to really show it! »
In a certain filiation with German expressionism, with free figuration and inspired by naturalism in literature, I develop an artistic universe on the border between graphic research and social commitment. I observe the situations of life in society. Exploring both drawing, performance, sculpture and installation to show my attention to the relationships between men. Through an intimate quest, I give birth to a universe where human agitation gives way to peace and harmony. In my installations as in my brightly colored drawings, the lines materialize the inner journey, a construction of a common world. Pink comes back in my work as the recurring color of the scar of a universe to be reconstructed towards a possible story of peace between men.
This theme is linked to a series of 800 drawings made in bars from 2004 to 2006 where I observed the human condition, 8 hours a day for periods of 1 to 4 weeks, and I drew what I saw . These are my own “Tales of Ordinary Madness”.
