Benjamin Self

I trained as an Illustrator, initially technical but switched to general illustration. For many years I worked in graphite and coloured pencil for drawings and gouache for paintings. Recently I have been painting in acrylic paint, I prefer to paint on rigid canvas-surfaced board. `i am keen on airbrushing and usually manage to include an element of it in my work, even if it's just to paint the background. I am passionate about classic cars, as can be seen in my works, and I have worked for many years in this sector creating paintings for owners. I also enjoy drawing and painting wildlife.
