« “Life is not a dress rehearsal” »
In my collage practice, I use papers gleaned here and there from magazines, old school textbooks or even newspapers, but I also like to work with placemats, packaging, advertising posters or even flowers dried. I never print anything, I give a second life to all these collected papers. After an initial sorting, I cut out, assemble and paste the images that seem to me to be brought together even though sometimes everything opposes them. This magical moment occurs following a sort of visual love at first sight. It is this way of working that I tried to show through the choice of my artist name “love of my sight”. I particularly like creating anachronistic compositions, absurd, poetic situations while trying to talk about causes that are close to my heart through humor. I also pay a lot of attention to the titles, always trying to find puns for each collage.
